Virtual Reality moves the photographic image away from the flat
2D into an immersive experience. Interactive photographic panoramas
allow a 360 degree exploration of a room or scene. These panoramas
can be linked to each other, to scene of crime images or video,
to audio or even to web content. Producing a fully interactive
exploration of a scene and all related material.
The difference between Virtual Reality and traditional video
is that you control what you want to see and not what the video
operative believes you will want to see. CSVR can be produced
at any location inside or outside, at any time of the day or
night and in all weather conditions. It is particularly useful
where access to an area needs to be limited i.e. murder scenes.
By utilising CSVR at scenes you can limit the number of people
and subsequent risk of cross contamination by reducing the need
for access.
The panoramas can also be used in court to show a scene in
more context than by simply using photographs or video. Bodies
or other details that might be considered innapropriate to
show to a jury can be pixelated out.
Acume can produce the VR scenes or incorporate your own into
a courtroom presentation. We can also supply specialist training
for using the software and hardware involved. We are also suplliers
of calibrated tripod heads for accurate panorama creation.
