'CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION'

'CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION' (Path to Justice)

This conference hosted in Abu Dhabi and arranged in collaboration between the Forensic Science Society (FSSoc) and the United Arab Emirates, Ministry of the Interior..

The forum features speakers from Abu Dhabi, the UK and Australia and examines opportunities presented when gathering evidence from crime scenes and how that evidence can be presented in its best light at the subsequent trial.

George Phillips one of the founding directors of Acume Forensic is one of the speakers  addressing the seminar on 'Electronic Courtroom Presentations', having previously spoken on this subject area at the Chinese Peoples Security University in Beijing.

Initially discussing the current position in the UK and then moving to the benefits achievable for Law Enforcement in time and cost savings at trial. Ensuring that Juries are engaged with the case material by using ethical and accurate illustrative work in an understandable format.

He will close by identifying the pitfalls when Law Enforcement use inappropriate external provider's who offer cut price service's with little understanding of the legal or ethical issues at hand.

Virtual Autopsy

Virtual autopsy

Acume Forensics recently produced a virtual autopsy and graphics for a TV production on recent theories regarding the Whitechapel Ripper. Using modern presentation techniques, Acume re-created the horrific injuries sustained to the Ripper's victims helping shed light on similarities to other murders.

The Forensic Hub

Acumé, along with many other specialist forensic service providers will be part of the forthcoming Forensic Hub. Details to be announced in the near future.

New Services

Acume Forensics now offer 3D scene scanning as a service. Quicker to measure than traditional methods and highly accurate. The 3D point cloud information enables a 3D CAD model to be produced with a very high degree of accuracy. Forensic Geomatic services allow measurements to be taken from these scans, such as the heights of figures and other measurements from CCTV footage.

EPE

Our courtroom presentations are produced in conjunction with the full prosecution team and in consultation with the defence. All work is completed in house by our own experts and the material is objectively produced to the highest ethical standard. To date our Courtroom EPE have been used by many Police Forces, HSE, MOD, Police Federation, Procurator Fiscal, Defence Counsel and other agencies.
