The number of different CCTV formats increase almost daily.
Footage is captured on tape, hard disc and solid state
devices. It is captured at various frame rates and image
sizes, motion sensing capture and time lapse are common.
There is also the problem that time codes are invariably
set differently for each system, the multitude of propriety
software players and multiplexing systems in use. All of
this creates problems in presenting the evidence in court
in a seemless and understandable way.
Acume are experienced in presenting CCTV footage in
the courtroom. The different systems are recreated into
a single format, they are annotated, frame rates adjusted
and time codes corrected. A single sequence can now be
produced with menu access to each camera or component.
It can be shown simultaniously against a map, plan or
aerial photograph with routes or camera locations if
needed. This is now in a format that a jury can understand,
the sequence of events are clear and not confused by
the technology and different systems involved.
Acume can also assist in actual recovery, and advise
on technical aspects of the recovery of CCTV footage.
